PATCH FAQ
Everything you need to know before you deck out your gear. Still stuck? We've got answers.
Set your iron to the cotton setting (around 150°C / 300°F, no steam). Place your patch exactly where you want it, then lay a thin cotton cloth or tea towel over it as a barrier so the iron never touches the embroidery directly. Press down firmly for 30–40 seconds, applying steady pressure without moving the iron around. Flip the item inside out and press the back for another 15 seconds, then let it cool completely before touching. Give the edges a gentle tug to make sure it's locked on.
Absolutely — sewing is the most permanent way to go, and it's perfect for gear that gets heavy wear or frequent washing. Use a strong thread that matches the patch border, work a simple running or whip stitch all the way around the edge, and you're set for life. Pro tip: iron it on first to hold it in place, then stitch around the border so it never shifts while you sew.
Our patches grip best onto sturdy, natural-fiber fabrics — think denim jackets, jeans, canvas backpacks, cotton tees, and cotton or twill hats. These materials handle the heat of the iron and give the adhesive plenty to bond to. Avoid delicate or heat-sensitive fabrics like nylon, polyester, silk, leather, and anything waterproof or water-resistant — the coating stops the glue from bonding, and high heat can scorch them. When in doubt, sew it on instead.
Yes! Once properly applied and fully cooled, your patches are built to survive the laundry. Wash inside out on a cold, gentle cycle and skip the harsh detergents. Air-dry when you can — high tumble-dryer heat over time is the fastest way to loosen any adhesive. For gear that gets washed constantly, adding a few stitches around the edge keeps them locked on wash after wash.
